Twenty Nine

Mmmmmm...  I love winter time food.  There is something so comforting about the flavors of winter.  They make my senses dance and my mouth excited to eat... not that my mouth isn't always excited to eat...  Last night was a simple cheese tortellini with a delicious butternut squash pasta sauce and freshly grated parmesan cheese.  Delicious.

Twenty Eight

Sometimes you need to give in to your cravings.  It's just that simple.

Twenty Seven

Oh the joys of post production...  Editing hundreds of photos.  Levels, curves, hue, saturation, quick masks, filters...  what seems like a never ending stream.  But it's all made easier when you have photos like the one you see on the screen to get excited about.  Thanks for being so darn gorgeous Heather.

Twenty Six

Heather.  I took her portraits today.  They are beautiful, just like she is.  This is one of my many, many favorites.

Twenty Five

Hopefully someday I'll finish the pajama pants I started...  Just not today.

Twenty Four

Today was the first day in a long time that I actually took the time to put on makeup (other than just mascara).  It felt really good to have a full face of makeup on and not just eyelashes.  I think I'll be doing my makeup a lot more regularly...

Twenty Three

When life gets hard, I find myself turning more and more often to the Lord for answers.  Prayer and scripture study have become vital parts of my life.  This scripture is especially meaningful today as I find out some hard news.

Twenty Two

This is what my project ended up as!  I love the way it turned out.  It's a super cute crochet hook clutch so I stop loosing all of my crochet hooks.  It has room for a bunch of hooks, scissors, yarn needles, and stitch markers.  I've already made two of these and am planning on making more for all of my crafty friends!  If you crochet and you'd like one, just let me know!

Twenty One

This is my day.  I went to work and my boss immediately sent me home, informing me that she had a vacation coming up and didn't want to catch whatever I had.  So my day has been spent in bed, sleeping, blowing my nose, coughing, blowing my nose, sleeping, blowing my nose, coughing, and blowing my nose.

Twenty

It's project time!!  I can't wait to get started.  You can bet it will be the photo of the day when it's done.  I love sewing/craft projects!

Nineteen

I have been working hard to "eat fresh."  I'm getting really bored.  It's so much more fun to eat things that are not good for you.  It also adds to your width, which is why I'm eating fresh.

Eighteen

To say I am obsessively reading through this series is an understatement.  I was actually offended that I had to go to work instead of getting to stay home and continue reading.  These books are amazing.  Read them.

Seventeen

Martin Luther King Jr Day... I'm glad he had a dream so that I could have a day off with pay.  I also have a dream... to get organized!  I bought these shelve things that hang in your closet to try and help.  And then spent all day cleaning and organizing my room... while getting paid.  Thank you Martin Luther King Jr.

Sixteen

This is gyoza.  I love gyoza.  If you don't know what gyoza is, it's the japanese name for potsticker.  We make them everyonce in a while at my parents house, and they are heaven.  I'm having my dad teach me how to make them so I can carry on the tradition in my own home.

Fifteen

I cannot even believe how amazing the sunsets have been lately.  So gorgeous.  The blue sky and the sun painting the clouds hot pink... God is definitely and artist.

Fourteen

Holy deliciousness Batman!  I love this place.  I have tried a ton of stuff on their menu, and have loved everything I've tried.  Mmmmmmm...

Thirteen

Sunset.  I love this time of day.  It's a little bit like the period of life I'm in right now.  Transitioning between two phases, not quite one, and not yet the other.

Twelve

In case of emergency, please take note of all exits.

Eleven

One of my favorite views.  I love hockey.  I love the Ducks.  I also love my wine colored chucks.

Ten

This is my Bella.  She is my favorite cuddle buddy (besides my hubby, of course).  She loves having her tummy scratched and her ears perk up with you say "treat," "let's go," or "Jill" (she loves my husband's aunt).  She is SO sweet and I love my little Ewok.

Nine

New life.  A mother and her brand new baby.  This is one of the most beautiful things in the world to me, and I can't wait until I'm the mother in a photograph like this.

Eight

Hockey.  I love hockey.  This is a picture from the Ducks Skills Showdown we went to today.  We had seats about 9 rows up from the glass.  It was amazing.  Watching all of my favorite players show off their skills and goof around on the ice was so much fun.  Let's Go Ducks!!

Seven

They say the eyes are the window to the soul.  I really believe that is true.  Your eyes really tell the story of where you've been, where you want to go, what you're REALLY feeling, and what you're most passionate about.  What do you see in my eyes?

Six

I LOVE to read.  In fact, I carry a book with me in my purse and usually have another stashed in my car just in case I'm somewhere and have extra time to blow.  Currently I am reading Alice in Wonderland, the original version.  It is wonderfully strange, and I'm not really sure why I haven't read it before now.

Five

We had a dentist in the area bring by these little goodie bags to try and promote their business.  Does anyone else find it slightly ironic, and maybe a little off-putting that a dentist would put chocolate chip cookies in a goodie bag to pass out?  Can you spell C-A-V-I-T-Y?

Four

We still have our Christmas lights up... and they still get turned on at night.  Sad and pathetic?  I think yes...

Three

Oh my dear soda...  How do I love thee?  Let me count the ways...  Too bad I gave you up starting today.  And still, you stare at me mockingly from the refrigerator door, daring me to pop open your top and drink your glorious refreshingly tasty contents.  Someday we will meet again, but alas, not today.

Two

I Know The Scriptures Are True is the Primary theme for 2011, and each kid (included adult sized kids like me) got a 3 minute timer and a scripture chart for the year, and the challenge is to read your scriptures for at least 3 minutes everyday.  I love this challenge.  I plan on completing this challenge.

One

My lens cap.  When I remove this from the end of my camera lens, a whole new world unfolds in the view finder right before my eyes.  This year I want to keep this off more often than it is on.

Embarkation

Today, 1-1-11, I am embarking on a photographic journey.  Please join me on this adventure as I learn and grow as a photographer.  Each day I will post a photo I took that day.  Whether something great, grand, and wonderful happened, or I took the time to find joy in the simple things, I want to document this year day by day.
